Bad things:
I'm effectively broke (because the $300 I'm coming back next year deposit is due April 1st and I will hopefully get payed enough for February to be able to take what little I have in my bank account and cover it). And I need a study book for the GRE which I need to order very soon because I want to study over Spring Break.

- Went to the library, took out three books: Jurassic Park, The Westing Game, and A Pocket Full of Rye. Started reading the Christie, is very good, etc. I just adore her writing style to bits.

- Got rejected by Colo State U's REU summer program. Oh well. Here's hoping someone else will love me. *sweats*

Well, it's a new semester and I've had all my classes. They're going to be hard and three of them will have big ol' projects/reports/ethnographies instead of a final exam. I'm not sure how I feel about that. Cultural Anthro will probably annoy me, but the other classes look awesome (and, you know, hard).

More adventures in how to have fun in Iowa.

We drank wine, ate crackers with cheddar and brie, and watched youtube videos on Friday until midnight. Super awesome. Then on Saturday we drove up to Minneapolis and saw "Comedy of Errors." It was really funny with lots of identical twins, though less crossdressing then one might expect from Shakespeare. ( Read more... )

J-term has been quite a blast so far, especially this first weekend. You know you're a cool college student when you
1) spend Friday evening until midnight in your room with a couple friends giggling over how weird your toes look, watching Lady Gaga music videos, and trying to write with your foot

Done with finals! I probably did frighteningly bad on the Probability & Stats one (fuck probability), Molecular was hard but I knew what I was doing mostly, and English and Anthro were easy. Yay!

It was my birthday yesterday and a very good one. Classes were alright, work was fun, I had breakfast (for once) and lunch with my sister who spent the day chatting with a very talkative art prof. Then it snowed about 8 inches starting in the afternoon. My family and some of my friends braved the snow and went out for dinner to this Italian place. ( Read more... )
